Sam product and project manages Black Bear’s development of internal and external software tools.  Since joining Black Bear, Sam has also worked across the organization in both client operations and  procurement. Prior to joining Black Bear, Sam was an Associate at Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), a leading non-profit renewable energy think tank, where he modeled the economics of solar, battery, and grid-interactive water heater integration for RMI’s ‘The Economics of Demand Flexibility’ report. Before RMI, Sam held roles across the renewable energy industry with Makani, SunEdison and most recently SolarCity. Sam received his M.S. in sustainable energy deployment and his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.
